Change management

As change is occurring more and more rapidly as technology improves, change management has a high profile when it comes to the context of business, government and defence instructions, such as:

internal requirements – policies, procedures and instructions

externally promoted policies and claims

government regulations

purchase orders, service level agreements, technical specifications & contracts

referenced documents, standards & codes

While there are many popular psychological approaches to change management, one fact remains constant, change management can be either proactive or reactive.

Proactive changes involve initiating the change in order to achieve a desired goal.  That is, the source of the change is internal.  Whereas, reactive changes involve responding to changes imposed on your organisation.  That is, the source of the change is external.

In order to ensure that changes are successfully achieved, your people need to ensure that they:

understand the original requirements (MIS 1200):

understand the new requirements (MIS 1200):

understand the difference (MIS 1200)

Savvy employers can use the Mustor Chunking Standard MIS 1200 to ensure their staff understand these requirements.  The standard ensures they focus on the:

mandatory/elective requirements

timing dependencies, conditions, exceptions, alternatives and

limiters.

Summaries of many of the popular psychological change management approaches and news sites can be found in the free General Interest Member section of the Mustor Management internet site.
